It's Official. It's Raining Cats And Dogs.

We are getting a ridiculous amount of unseasonal rain at the moment.  Way too much.  Our harvest is being held up and I am too scared to even think what the rain is doing to our grain quality....  Anyway.

This morning even our little electronic weather station was in agreement.  In case I couldn't look out the window and see for myself it informed me of exactly what was happening.

Very Official Weather Observation - "Cats and Dogs"

Yep - cats and dogs.

Hopefully the last of the rain is passing over today and we get some proper harvest friendly weather.  I did see this beautiful rainbow when I was out walking early this morning.

Rainbow, Looking West, Main Driveway

I am taking it as a sign from The Weather Gods.  Blue skies are coming soon....

(PS - Am working on a couple of recipe posts.  Hoping to get them up semi-soon)

I love the photo of the farm!

Isn't technology great for confirming what we can see?

Take care. Eagerly waiting for recipe posts.

Oh you poor love :( isn't living by the weather just the pits sometimes? This morning we had an ENORMOUS thunderstorm at 5.30am - claps of thunder like I had never heard before, teeth chattering/window shaking volume, must've been right on top of us! Blinding flashes of lightning and 26mm in 40 mins. Needless to say, glad we're not grain farmers right about now.

GREAT to see you popping your blog head back on every now and then - when we get around to the WA wheat belt on our honeymoon adventure I'll give you a 'hoy!

Love the rainbow. I'm in the process of making a rainbow turtle cake for my soon to be 10 year old out of your 'Ridiculously Large Chocolate Cake'. Oh boy, has that recipe come in handy. Can't wait for the up coming ones.
I hope the rain didn't do too much damage to the crops. The canola looked beautiful when in flower.
Hope the hammering stops soon. Take care.

Love it ... raining cats and dogs, very scientific.
Beautiful rainbow
I think you might be getting all the rain we are wishing for. I hope it clears up for you.

Ha, that's funny! Does it tell you if it's cold Brass Monkey weather or if it's windy enough to blow the eggs back up the chooks butts?!
Love the rainbow - captures you Western Australia beautifully.
We had a cracker of a thunderstorm last night and more on the way tomorrow. I pray your crops will be okay.

Cheers - Joolz

First we had x years of drought, now the heavy rain... there's no happy medium! On the upside, your property looks beautiful even with those heavy clouds in the sky (and the rainbow certainly helps...)

Those Weather Gods never quite get it right, do they? I think they are a bit old school and haven't heard about consultation with their customers. My farmer son, in one of those games where you have to answer questions like "if you could have anything you wished for, what would it be?" replied with "a direct line to the Weather Gods." Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Hope your weather co-operates and you get that crop off.

And the rainbow shot is beautiful!

The rainbow photo is spectacular! We find the weather frustrating in the city so I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating it is when your livelihood is somewhat dependent upon it. x
