A Doggy Door And The Laundry Floor.

Hi there.  Do you like my lame rhyming title?  It was the best I could come up with.  Sorry.  (Not like back in the halcyon days of this blog when I composed  a haiku about heavy machinery.  Good times.)

Anyway - digressing.  The main task for The Farmchildren today was to teach Herbie The Wonder Puppy to use his new doggy door in the laundry.  I had envisioned us with treats on one side gently coaxing him through.  Farmgirl had different ideas.  She had a much more hands on approach.  Look.

Watch And Do

To give her credit, Herbie took one look and followed her through so we could tick that job off the To Do list pretty quickly.

While I was in the laundry (my least favourite room in the house) I noticed that it was disorganised and I could hardly find the floor.  Actually, who am I trying to kid - I had known this for ages.  Anyway I was overcome with a sudden wave of motivation to clean and sort the whole room out.  And now it is very neat and tidy.  (Look Mum, you can see the floor and everything!!)

Laundry - Tidy With Easily Visible Floor

I have just re-read this post and realised that I have been reduced to posting a photo of my laundry on the internet.  And to think I used to write poetry about front-end loaders.  Oh dear.  Sorry all.

Hope you are having brilliant Tuesdays.

Wow!! Laundry looks great! I long for the day we have a proper room for the laundry & not just the cupboard style one we currently have!
Would've. Been great to see the before as well ;) but all that organisation is just so soothing x

TPS - Just can't bring myself to show pictures of my dirty laundry on the internet....!! And isn't the organisation soothing. I have been sticking my head in there now and then to just feel calmer.

I have a similar photo of my sister using a dog flap except she's stuck in it. We had a bet to see if we could all get through it. Sadly, she couldn't. Happily, I had a camera.

I reckon I've written about the laundry, doing laundry and drowning in laundry at least 576 times, so no worries there!

I actually have laundry-space envy. Mine is teensy and yours' is spaaacious. x

Thanks so much for the comments. The laundry is less spacious than it looks although even I was surprised at how big it was when I tidied it right up.

The doggy door is a huge success and Herbie (and both kids) are using it on a regular basis. I am hoping the novelty wears off from the kids' point of view soon but figure they will get too big soon anyway....

Trust a child to find the practical approach - love it! Your laundry puts me to shame, I really must apply myself to finding a way to make such a tiny space work for all the functions it serves (including storing gardening gear and gum boots).

I wish I had been able to borrow Farm Girl for 5 minutes - it took us 2 years, uncountable numbers of dog treats and hours to get our little Max to use the dog door to come in. He still hasn't figured out how to get out even though he sees our other dog and the cat using it all the time. Poor Max is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I have a big laundry which means big mess! HUUUUGE! Luckily I have 3 washers in there so it all gets sorted really really quickly!

Is 12,000 miles too far to come to over and do my laundry room too? Looks perfect!
