A Dolphin for New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is going to be laid back and relaxed here at The Beach House. We are having champagne and sea food, and some friends are popping around for a quiet drink.  We may or may not make midnight. Since the arrival of The Farmchildren our New Year's Eves have been considerably more low key than they used to be...

We started our day with an early morning swim at the local marina beach.  We call this the "Baby Beach" because it is absolutely perfect for small children. Shallow clear water, clean white sand and shaded grass.  All the boxes are ticked.

Baby Beach
While we were sitting on the grass putting on sun cream we saw a dolphin swim right into the shallow water.  By the time I had found my camera it had swum out a little way.

It was a wonderful start to the day.

I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve, wherever they may be.

Take good care.

Oh it looks simply gorgeous there! Just the right place to be in these temperatures (I assume it is just the same or hotter there as here in the city). The dolphin is surely a good sign for 2011.

We are fairly positive we won't make midnight unless young City Boy decides to wake up around then. But we are now embracing our lack of daylight saving and are happily going to celebrate NYE on Sydney time which works out to be 9pm here these days. I think I can make it until then and Channel 9 are being so good as to broadcast the fireworks live so we will have some NYE spirit.

All the best for 2011 to all the Farm inhabitants!!

Happy New Year, AFW and Farm Family!

It's a good omen, isn't it - the dolphin!

Don't worry, you will not be the only ones possibly not making it until midnight!!

Not A Ballerina - Thank you for all your good wishes. I hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve - your first as someone's Mummy!

SSG - I adored the dolphin, it made our day. I did make midnight in the end (but only just). I hope 2011 makes all your wishes come true.

This Mid 30s Life - Poor you! Horrible being sick, particularly when it is NYE. I always struggled when I was sick in winter in the northern hemisphere. For some reason it made me homesick....

Georgie - Thanks Georgie, hope you had a wonderful New Year.
