So I agonised for ages as to what colours would look good next to my super glamourous pistachio green KitchenAid.

Then when I got bored with that I gave the Nigella breadbin a whirl.

Somehow I don't think these are the big questions in life....
(I need The Farmer to come home earlier and say "Just choose the white one, you know that's what you will do in the end anyway".)

Nope, not shallow. Sounds to me like you absolutely have your priorities in the right spot and if I may throw my two cents worth in... anything goes with pistachio green! gxo
AFW,
The importance of a harmoniously hued kitchen benchtop can never be understimated.
I agree with Georgie, the pistachio green looks great with everything.

I totally understand - we are about to have a new kitchen installed and one of my key frames of reference is my pale yellow kitchenaid - obviously it has to work with that!
I did exactly the same thing, cept my kitchen aid and bread bin are both white... and I chose snow... which is white.... aaargh, now freaking out that the kitchen is going to look like an operating theatre, white and stainless steel! xx
One thing I have noticed with the stone bench tops the ones with the brownish hue through them always look a bit dirty to me when seen en mass as a kitchen top.
oh you are so lucky to have that Kitchen Aid. I would like a pale blue one. Was hinting for Mother's day but it did not happen.
Not shallow at all! You have your priorities right in tackling all the big issues.
TDM xx
AFW, you are definitely not shallow.
If it was me making the choice I'd probably drive myself into a nervous breakdown. Besides kitchens are one of those places where getting things right the first time is almost like a life/death situation because the wrong colour could almost make me want to die :p
You aren't shallow. But don't ask me. I have to hire a decorator for these things. Or our entire house would literally be white...
Those samples remind me of my mum's old work when we were kids - we'd go around choosing the laminex samples just because we could!
Thanks everyone - my kitchen at our current house is all white and shiny and new. Don't think that is going to work at The New House as I am trying to just spend a little bit of money to brighten an old wooden and pink laminate number. Painting the wood is easy enough but don't think I will splurge on stone, so am looking at laminex. I will let everyone know how I go.
