Ugg Boots: That Many Bogans Can't be Wrong.

Last week I bought Farmboy some new ugg boots.  He chose them himself.  He is starting to display some slight bogan tendencies.  I have been reliably told that most six year old boys do this.  I was relieved to hear this, as I was worried he might have inherited it from either The Farmer or myself.  My inner bogan is not as strong as my inner nanna, but it's there.  I can't help it.  Occasionally it comes to the surface - Metallica anyone?  As for The Farmer - circle work anyone?

Anyway - I digress.

Here are Farmboy's uggies.  Kind of cool with a black jean and flannel shirt type vibe. Although even Country Road are doing flannel shirts this winter.

Sorry - digressed again.

Now, here are the boots.

Bogan Boy Boots

He loves them so much.  When he first put them on he turned to me and said

"Mum, it's like there are little clouds under my feet."

You've just got to love that boy.

Anyway, best go and have a nice glass of Stones Green Ginger Wine and Coke. Oops, I meant red wine.

Wow, pretty wicked.

Have your read the blog - what bogans like. It is pretty funny.

I'm sorry, they are hideous. Is that a skeleton hand doing the sign of the devil? LOL.
I love his description of them though - 'little clouds'.

I have little clouds under my feet right now....although mine don't have skeleton hands on them... Well done on allowing your kids to get their own choice!

They are truly hideous. He likes them though... I tried to point him in the direction of the natural coloured boots with more subtle skeletons (apparently skeletons were required) Alas, no.

All us Aussies have got an inner bogan in there somewhere. And flannel shirts are SO in right now.....I think you've got a fashionista on your hands.... Loved this post x

TaiTai - Thank you for supporting my inner bogan. Am currently eyeing off a Country Road flannel shirt - 25% off online tomorrow so I may do some clicking and purchasing.

Love in a B and B - Somehow I don't think your uggs are black with skeleton hands on them. Hope you have cloudy, cosy toes.

Ah skeletons. Hoping I've got another year or so before they are essential. The boots are very bogan, the comment about the boots, very cute and very un- Bogan.
I was just chatting to a friend's husband yesterday and he shared that he had gone to a work function with a multicultural/come in your cultural traditional dress type theme. He went as a Bogan complete with really authentic mullet wig.Mel:)

well I think I may be more nanna than bogan, but am currently sporting my pink and ankle length clouds on my feet! cross between and true ugg boot and nanna's floral slippers (hey, they were on sale!)Whatever the lack of style, they keep my toes toasty!
(and I sympathise with your issues with black and skeletons...its nearly as bad trying to buy girls clothes at the moment. 8 year old girls should not be wearing such, thank goodnes oldest is still girly girl!)

What's a bogan? I tried on my step daughter's ugg boots a few years ago and have owned a pair of clouds ever since! They;re especially lovey for cold mornings on the school run... :)

that is hilarious! What a cute farmboy!

You know he will be 'fully bogan' when he walks out of the sole and the outer ankle part is scrapping along the ground.

haha - everyone loves ugg boots! No matter how many other types of 'slipper' you try, you always return to them for comfort and warmth. love it!

Hilarious post! I love to wear my slip on uggies around the house, and I even wear socks underneath them in the colder weather. Like you, my inner bogan is not as strong as my inner nanna. xo

Loved this post. Particularly as today I heard bogan defined as "a particularly unsophisticated style of dress" and sophisticated as "less natural or innocent". I'd go bogan any day to feel like I was walking on clouds.

Well I must be a bogan because I too love my ugg boots!!

I received my first pair of ugg boots for mother's day and today... I wore them... out of the house. On the school run because it was freezing and we were running late and my boots either have really long laces or involve tucking in jeans... it's much easier to be a little bit bogan. gxo

All Aussies, whether we like it or not, have a bit of bogan. And I love it. In fact I spent much of my teen years in a flannel shirt listening to Cold Chisel.

That reminded me of when a very city friend saw circle work for the first time. I had to actually explain what it was, and it's not until you explain it that you realise what an odd thing it is to do.

I love Uggs but they are for the house. Not outside. Have written about it actually: http://www.midthirtieslife.com/2010/09/about-those-uggs.html

More lovely comments - thanks so much everyone.

Mid 30s - Never outside the house. May have spent a few years in pubs where my shoes stuck to the carpet listening to Chisel myself....

I can wear high heel boots, scarves, berets, euro style coats with the best of them - but beat up eggs and trackies....pure bogan style - cant do with out.

...uggs are also ok for camping, and for walking the dog in the dark when no one is looking.......

Where on earth did he come up with that? Hilarious.

I too have my bogan moments! Think imitation tall ugg like boots (not even the real deal) in camouflage print! Nuff said... :p
