Country Kitchen Decor With Farmgirl. Decluttering, Real And Virtual.

Yesterday I finalised the selections for the kitchen makeover that is planned for The New House.  I posted earlier about the issues I was having with these decisions....

I had a meeting with the lovely local cabinet makers and made my final selections.  I am getting a new laminate counter top and the existing kitchen resprayed.  Hopefully this will last a few more years and then I can afford my dream kitchen.

My final choices are a dark countertop and an ever-so-slightly off white paint colour.

See.

Farmgirl had come with me to the cabinet maker's shop for the meeting.  She asked if the samples came in pink.  The ever obliging cabinet maker's wife produced this fabulous fuchsia sample.

If Barbie Had A Kitchen It Would Look Like This

We are gearing up to move house toward the end of July.  This means I need to get on with some major decluttering in The Farmhouse and get the packing boxes out.  While I am in decluttering mode, I am going to give the blog a bit of a clean up too.  The plan is to make a special recipe section on the blog.  So, if some of my posts pop up again in your readers as I relabel them, I apologise.  Please bear with me.

Gorgeous! Can't beat that colour combo. I'm sure the pink would be brilliant too, but how would The Farmer and Farmboy feel about that?? If my girls had their way every one of our drawers or cupboards would be a different colour. Rainbow is the new black apparently. gxo

A blog revamp is like having a holiday. It really is. I kid you not.

Yay! Im so jealous! I cant wait to get a new kitchen, mine currently has pointy screws as handles and the cupboards are all falling off - this is made worse because I am married to a joiner who makes OTHER people gorgeous kitchens everyday. Sigh...

Beautiful classic colour combo AFW.
(Try saying that fast).
Laughed at Suzi's comment ... my Dad's a builder and Mum lived in the most ramshackle old house in town for many many years.
What is it with girls and pink? Thankfully our girls' tastes are maturing.

Black and white always looks stunning and smart.

The move sounds very exciting and decluttering always a breath of fresh air.

You are so sorted!

Will happily bear with you, as only a enw reader of your blog and need to see those recipes etc.

We have that colour combo in our kitchen - the dark benchtops are good for camouflaging dirt and fingerprints :)

Please tell me you are going to include 3% of the tiles in hot pink! Just a splash! C'mon!
