Look - this is how you know you are turning into a country hick. When you see a traffic light on the way into town your children are so excited they make you take a photo....

They even put up a little sign to tell you what to do when the light is red.....

Absolutely priceless! Am very envious, my school drive involves numerous traffic lights and a lot of commuter traffic!
Fantastic ;-)
I commute from a city into ... well, the boonies (because I enjoy teaching at a small, rural school), and the drive is very interesting, to say the least. Going from gas stations every mile or so to an extended area with no cell phone service is quite an adventure ;-)
Also, there is a sign that says "BUMP" right before my school. I figure if that small, rural school is advertising a bump, it's got to be pretty intense ;-)
Country hick! Haven't heard that one for a while :) I still am one, though.
SM x
I was just thinking when I read your blog title how different from SSG's commute! I used to have a commute like this when I lived in UK in the countryside - a pleasure! Actually I cannot complain here in Melbourne either as I walk - only 10 minutes too.X
Thanks everyone for your comments. SM - you are the least hickish country hick I know!! (But I agree you are still a country girl at heart.)
Brilliant! We are 14 months into country life. There are no traffic lights or roundabouts in our town (or for hundreds of miles), our whole family gets excited when we drive down to the big smoke and encounter them!
