Decorating Your Bathroom In Classic Blue and White. That Many Smurfs Can't Be Wrong.

Earlier this year we finally finished the bathroom renovation.  The old bathroom had completely broken from a plumbing point of view and urgent intervention was required.  I spent lots of time trying to plan a bathroom that was kind of modern but still fitted into the Federation style (faux federation as it is a relatively new house) of the existing homestead.  After much research and perusing of websites and magazines, I managed to cobble together this.

Bathroom - tastefully put together in black and white.  At least I think so...

And then Farmgirl got in on the act.  My vision of carefully chosen bathroom accessories was blown out of the water.  As The Farmchildren are the main users of this bathroom, they wanted a say about want went in it.

And look what Farmgirl chose.

Smurfette.  And her mushroom house.

I have decided that, at the very least, it ticks the classic blue and white box.  Plus Smurfette is one hell of a girl.

On a completely different note The Farmer gave me "Downton Abbey" Series 2 in a box set for my recent birthday.  Watched two episodes last night and it is amazing.  Feel a bit guilty and like I am cheating as it isn't on the TV yet.  But not enough to stop me watching!  Maggie Smith as The Dowager Countess is still stealing the show.  That woman can really deliver a line....

Hope everyone had a good Wednesday.  Mine was pretty OK.  As far as Wednesdays go.

Take care.

Love your bathroom - and I feel your pain re children's decorating. My attempt at a grown up family bathroom is often thwarted as it is festooned with lego minifigures, all toting full arsenals of various weaponry.

I just came back from a holiday in Europe and discovered on the Cathay Pacific inflight entertainment they had the entire season 2 of Downton to view! Of course I found this around 30 minutes before we descended.....

What a lovely bathroom - my daughter used to be mad about Smurfette when she was little. I've never thought about decorating with the Smurfs before, but why not? Clearly Farmgirl is ahead of her time!

Love, love, love the bathroom! But I think you will rue the day you put in a dark vanity top! Just saying...

I have already devoured Downton Abbey Series 2 and just wished it would go on forever! There is a Christmas at Downton Abbey DVD out too and they are filming Series 3 so that's good news!

I had a good Wednesday too - onwards to the weekend - my girls are coming home because Hubby is in a 'Wok Off' cooking competition for our local Geltwood Craft Festival! Wok On!

Cheers - Joolz

Your new blog outfit looks great.
You make me laugh so much. Yes, the children's decorating choices are an opportunity to practice some self-restraint and mindfulness aren't they? We want them to make their own decisions...but somehow these never coincide with the gorgeous kiddie rooms in magazines...I have yet to see a child's room in a "House and Garden" that has anything other than quaint wooden toys and retro models from the 60's. If they ran a "Decorating with Lego and Manga" I'd be delighted...
