We did a tiny bit of sight seeing in Launceston. Look. A chairlift.
Scary Chair Lift |
It was fun but scary. I am scared of heights and I can safely say that Farmgirl was much braver than me as we merrily bobbed our way to the top.
I haven't been blogging much. I have been working full time at my real job for a month or so to help out as we are short staffed. It has been fun but very hard work. No time left over for fun things like coffee with my friends or blogging. Things should return to normal over the next few weeks. (I hope.)
I also turned 37. I know, 37! How did that happen?? I feel like one day I went to bed and I was 26 and then I woke up and was 37 with a husband, two kids, a responsible job, a farm and lots of other grown up paraphernalia. Oh well - it's all good really. I was reading an interview with Meryl Streep (my all time favourite ever actress) and she said that getting old was a privilege that not everyone was able to experience. It is a very good point.
Mmm - my only other news is that I got to the end of Frugal February and can safely say I was an almighty fail in that department. Too much shopping went on. I figured I cancelled out the spending by working full time. Or at least that is my story. And I am going to stick with it.
Hope you are all doing well, wherever you are.

When I saw '37' I thought you were commenting on the high temps in Tasmania. I thought you were going to say you wanted to escape the heat of WA and head to Tasmania to the cool but the hot weather followed you! LOL Happy birthday for your 37th. My birthday was the 20th of Feb. Are you also a Piscean? No wonder we like the same things. Great to hear from you again through your blog.
Anne @ Domesblissity
Anne - I am indeed a Piscean. There is a lot to be said for the fish of this world...
ahh, just wait til you are 44!
It does indeed take a while to get into the swing of things when you go to work full time after a break.
Tassy is lovely, I'm really cross that when I was there in October I was so sick with a flu! I was truly miserable and I don't remember too much about it!
It has been a while AFW. Tasmania is one of the places I'd love to visit ... one day. Happy belated birthday, and look forward to 'seeing' more of you.
We hope to visit Tassie later this year. Did you do the ocean crossing or fly? Gus just can't bring himself to get on that boat (he said he'd freak out if the sea was rough, knowing he had to endure the crossing in rough weather) so we may fly then hire a camper to tour around for a couple of weeks.
Happy 37th Birthday too - you'll find you'll get to 47 and say the same thing - where the hell did that time go??!
Cheers - Joolz
Joolz - we flew. We had a limited time and didn't want to waste any on the boat. The flight was into Launceston and very quick...Coming from WA Tasmania seemed tiny and everywhere was a relatively quick drive!
We flew to Tassie in 1997 for 14 days and will definitely go back for another look!
I have just turned 49 and I dont feel any different than when I was a teenager lol!
Happy belated birthday youngen!
x
Tassie is definitely on my list of places to visit, your trip looks gorgeous.
You might want to reconsider the peacock though, they are amazingly noisy. A deer on the other hand, yup, I could have one of those.
Happy belated birthday, how lovely to have celebrated it on holiday.
Tassie is on my list too, I must really try to get there before I leave Canberra - it's a lot easier from here :)
