My New Favourite Cook Book.

I am a cook book addict.  This is my latest purchase and I am completely in love with it.

Slow Cooking By Margaret Fulton

Margaret Fulton must be in her late eighties now.  She has updated her original crockpot cookbook from the 70s and created this gorgeous Slow Cooking book.  (Remember crockpots? - the slow cookers of the 70s.  Usually covered in enamel with a funky pattern in lime green or burnt orange.  Or possibly mission brown for the cook who favoured neutrals.  Now I think about it lots of things were covered in funky patterns back in the 70s....)

It is such a beautiful, simple cookbook.  You know how you buy some cookbooks and only cook a handful of the recipes?  I think I would cook just about every single thing in this book. It is full of wholesome casseroles, stews and pot roasts.  There is nothing gimmicky or trendy about it.  Just wonderful food done perfectly.  I love it.

I think if you have a slow cooker you need this book.  Actually, buy a slow cooker so you can buy this book!

(This is definitely not a sponsored post.  I just wanted to share an excellent book by an Australian cooking legend.)

Take care.

I love Margaret Fulton. Years ago my Aunt was a producer on a Lions Christmas Cake ad that she did so got me a signed script! That book is enough to make me want to invest in a slow cooker. But what size should I get?

WE've got a slow cooker sitting in the cupboard that I've never used! Terrible I know. I might just have to buy this book as an excuse to start using it! Thanks for the recommendation xx

When hubby gets the sads because the VISA is melting down, I'll direct him here. :) When I was coveting your slow/pressure cooker, the only thing stopping me buying was... 'well, what would I cook in it?' Now I'm going to toddle out and buy both. Thanks darl, you help keep my family fed! Suzxx

Oh fabulous! Really. Thank you. Since I've started working I've been slow cooking meals like there's no tomorrow. V. disappointed with tonight's 'hedgehogs'.

And I love no-fuss cook books especially when one doesn't have one to cook for one!

I am going to go and buy this tomorrow! There are two evenings that I get in at 6pm, swimming and tennis lesson days. I am in DIRE need of some new slow cooker recipes for those days as I think a mutiny might be looming otherwise! x
