Herbie The Wonder Dog.

Lots of people have been asking me for an update on Herbie The Wonder Puppy, Sausage Dog Extraordinaire. So here it is.

Herbie The Wonder Puppy has officially graduated to being The Wonder Dog.  He is over a year old now and adds a lot of fun to our life here at The Farmhouse.

He likes a cuddle and loves trying to eat The Farmer's socks while The Farmer is still wearing them.  He tries to hide when it is time to go outside however a sausage shaped bump under the covers of a smoothly made bed gives him away.

When he gets excited and runs, it looks like his back legs and front legs are going in different directions and his tail doesn't wag, but rather goes around in a complete circle.

Human food seems to hold more fascination for Herbie than dog food and he often persuades The Farmchildren to part with sausages and other titbits under the table.  Even though we have a strict "no feeding Herbie at the table" rule.

Herbie has been made to play numerous games with Farmgirl and I have found him in a pram with a baby hat on, in a box and also with a Barbie doll tied to his back (he was the horse....).  When he gets sick of playing, he just shakes off any accessories and wanders away.

Herbie is still the only male in my life who is so excited to see me at the end of a day at work that he wees on my foot. I will be OK with it when he stops though.  Perhaps as part of his graduation from Wonder Puppy to Wonder Dog?

All in all - Herbie The Wonder Dog has been a fabulous addition to our little Farm Family. He gets and he gives lots of love.

Look - isn't he handsome.  (And he so should not be lying on the pillow!!)

Naughty Herbie

And just for old times sake....

Baby Herbie

I hope everyone has a great day.

So cute still. Love that Farmgirl dresses him up. We used to do that to our animals. I remember pushing the cat around in a dolls pram with a bonnet on and dress, his tail swishing furiously at the indignity. xx

What a sweetie! Re: the weeing. My sister's dog did this a lot. They were advised to not engage with her the minute they got home. Go inside, put your stuff down, do a few things, etc then say hello. By then some of the initial excitement has worn off and they are better able to control themselves. Hope that helps!

What a funny wonder dog....so lovely watching children grow up with animals.....at one time our beagles quite happily were runways on which the boys used to land their planes! Have a fab weekend. Rx

aHHH, A little dax. I grew up with one, also a sock lover. It's a dog thing. They are great dogs, real dog barks on small dog size, great lap dogs, love walks and good watch dogs. cute!!
