I Have A New Toy.

Much excitement here at The Farmhouse today.  Farmgirl and I were at the hardware shop when we saw this.

Cordless Blower Thingy
It is a cheap unknown brand cordless leafblower thingy.  The Shopping Gods demanded I grab it with both hands as my previous blower vac had a cord I kept falling over and the heavy duty petrol powered one The Farmer uses is way too heavy for me.  We all know that I am very quick to jump to the demands of The Shopping Gods.

I am so excited I have spent the day blowing down every outside surface I can find and doing sad things like taking photos of my new leafblower thingy and then (this is embarrassing...) photoshopping the photos.  Perhaps I should get out more?

My plan is that making a racket with the leafblowing thingy will discourage snakes and also mean everything looks super tidy.

Thanks to everyone who admired my roses in my last post.  For those who asked, the normal rose bushes are Sceptr'd Isle, St Cecilia and Mary Rose.  There is also a climbing Pierre De Ronsard that will hopefully grow up the verandah post soon.  If it lives we will get one for all the posts.

Not much else to report here.  Farmgirl and I made cupcakes and I spent stacks of time on the internet doing admin type stuff.

So - anyone else have an exciting Monday?  Buy any cordless gardening gear??

Take care.

I have a question - does it get the spider webs down or is that just wishful thinking on my behalf?

Annaleis what a great idea. Haven't tried. Off to do that straight away and will get back to you.

Ok - it definitely did some serious damage. Didn't get rid of them completely but made a big dent.

I used mine last week to get the spiderwebs off the veranda. Very satisfying seeing them all blow away into the garden somewhere.... what on earth were you photoshopping your leaf blower for? Isn't it beautiful enough naturally? xx

Photoshopped the leaf blower as my photo was not red enough....! Wanted a true portrayal of the leaf blower (and had too much time on my hands)

My husband has one of those and I'm not allowed to use it. It does look nice when he gets rid of all of the leaves on the driveway. I have exactly those same roses you mention growing in my garden in Hobart.....but happily no snakes! I feel your angst about needing to get out more...I suffer from the same affliction....but I got to go to Ikea in Melbourne last weekend....I'll take what I can get! Rx

Oh I want one now, and I do love that red colour!

The wind today blew everything around, it was even too windy to sweep up, so one of these would have been handy! I actually think hubby owns one, somewhere, wonder where it is?

Love the leaf blower thingy. I need one of those especially if they help with cobwebs. My husband has a leaf blower that hears me coming and starts sniggering because it will not start for me.

Was thinking of you Sunday, walked out our back door and looked down and thought is that what I think it is, go back inside and get glasses and sure enough it is a thankfully dead baby snake. Husand comes home from work and I asked him to look at it for confirmation, yes it is a snake and then he casually mentions I wonder where the rest of its family is. Oh s*** I hadn't thought of that. Then asked me if I knew why it was dead!!! Don't know and don't care was the reply.

lol Thankyou! I never get rid of them completely with the broom and they pop straight up the next day. Thanks for testing your new toy on them!

Looking at your new toy I've had a brainwave! I think it would be marvellous for blowing all the jacaranda flowers, leaves, stalks and seed pods off my poor car. It gets rained on by the jacaranda all the time!

I bought a cheap blower vaccy thingo because hubby had a big gung-ho one that I couldn't start. Mine is electric with a cord but it's nearly as heavy as his so I don't use it much. But it is mine!
Now I want a pressure washer thingy to do my paths and pavers with, get rid of bird turd etc.

Cheers - Joolz

Snap! Here are some pics of our leaf blower. One of it's jobs is blowing away the fallen petals from the Pierre de Ronsard climbing up the verandah post! You are a girl after my own heart :) I've never thought of using it for spider webs though - I'll have to give it a go Suzx
