Now I have to confess that I am not one of the most new agey type people and so not all of these quotes are overly profound or lifechanging. They are just things I have read over the years that have tickled my fancy for one reason or another.... I have included my favourite Elizabeth Taylor quote too.
"Now is the time for guts and guile."
Elizabeth Taylor
"Courage is grace under pressure."
Hemingway
"Just do it."
Nike
"The male is a domestic animal which, if treated with firmness and kindness, can be trained to do most things."
Jilly Cooper
"Fiction is life with the dull bits left out."
Clive James
"I never hated a man enough to give his diamonds back."
Zsa Zsa Gabor
"The best revenge is massive success."
Frank Sinatra
"Drink coffee. Do stupid things faster and with more energy."
No idea who said this but I like it.

Having just re read the above quotes I have realised that the one that has been most useful to me is the Nike slogan. There were times when The Farmchildren were young and that became my mantra for motherhood.... Does anyone else have any useful (or useless) quotes?

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. (Useful)
Better out than in. (Don't ask)
It's all good. (Useless but useful)

Oh, love that coffee quote! That's going on my frige. I love Audrey Hepburn's "I believe happy girls are the pretties girls" And don't get me started on Dr Seuss...
My favourite is 'no other b***tard is going to do it for you'. It can be applied in so many different situations. I find it a good motivator.

Nothin a good therapist can't fix is my daily mantra. But "Beer: not just for breakfast anymore," that's just a good one.
