And lo and behold, look what happened.
Very Bogged Bike |
Lucky his lovely wife came along with her Landcruiser to help pull him out. Or at least to allow the winch cable to be hooked onto the back of the car so the bike could sort of winch itself out.
(I tried to take photos of the winching but the angle was all wrong. I debated asking The Farmer to do it again for photographic purposes but decided that was not such a good idea.)
Do men ever grow up? And really, do we want them to? (Imagine the laughs you would miss out on.)

short answer... no, they never grow up! You'll be able to get good mileage out of that one though, how you saved the day!!! Jane x
Laughing very hard...boy will be boys ALWAYS.
I have so many photo's from governessing on different stations of boys doing things that make you say "What were you thinking....oh thats right you weren't"
Nothing better than a bogged picture to make life interesting.
Ah, getting bogged - one of the joys of farming. There is a patch of my dad's farm that everyone knows cannot be driven on, yet he insists on traversing it. The outcome is always the same. I think men get a sick sort of pleasure out of getting bogged.
I sometimes wonder how the human race continues to exist when I hear the stories of what the men in my life have got up to as kids/teenagers/yesterday. I think the answer is that they generally have a woman to get them out of the mud when they are stuck in it!
Great picture and a very amusing story.
ha - too funny.
yeah - boys will be boys!
cheryl xox.
I love the childishness we all have in us. Makes for a good laugh and a good time! ps. Haven't heard the word "bogged" in so long. Love it ;)
Had to laugh, AFW, about your photographic evidence! I don't know what it is about bikes, but it definitely bring out the "big kid" in even the most sensible!
They never grow up. I like it! x
ah the memories of my 13th birthday party riding around with my school friends on the 4wheeler - until i drove into a fence. No injuries thankfully!
That's what these machines were made for! And farm boys... and girls...love machines.
