The Top 5 Things About Having Children

In a break from the beachy theme that seems to have taken over my supposedly farm blog I have decided to  join in Kate's (over at Kate Takes 5) Top 5 list link.

I have been spending lots of time with The Farmchildren recently and her list topic got me thinking.  What are the top 5 things about having children??  Sometimes having children is hard work.  The rewards are very abstract in comparison to the concrete realities of caring for them on a day to day basis.  Having said that - The Farmchildren are the greatest gift I have ever received.  I'm completely smitten.

So here we go, my Top 5 Things About Having Children.

1.  They are the most beautiful creatures I have ever set eyes on.

There is something about your own babies that gets you every time.  Perfection.

2.  They return all the love I give (and I give a lot) tenfold.

There is nothing like little arms going around your neck and small mouths kissing you, whilst saying that they love you to infinity. And back.

3.  They make me laugh.  Daily.

4.  I have learnt to play again.

5.  I can watch them develop into their own little people.

Both The Farmchildren have their own personalities.  Some traits they have inherited from The Farmer or myself.  Others seem entirely their own.  I like that.

What a lovely list :) I like how you concentrated on these aspects, rather than the tantrums and the mess like I did :)

That is so beautiful - I am now ashamed of my pathetic list...Must try harder next time. Your picture in no. 4 could win prizes - really special. Thanks for joining and see you next week. xx

SSG - I don't think I am a gorgeous mum, I know I have gorgeous kids though...

Hannah - Thank you. Trust me, there are days where it all seems tantrums and mess!

Kate - Glad you liked my list. I really liked yours too. Take care.

That's a really lovely list, puts the fact that I listed soft play and excuses to shame ;)

I love the photo for number four.

Love this post. Must admit I've been feeling awfully clucky as I have recently been surrounded by new babies. Your post doesn't help. Will resist temptation however, and focus on the joys of the two I've got!

Emma - So glad you like the photo, my favourite bit is the fact that you can see the silhouette of Farmgirl's fairy dress.

helloitsgemma - Thank you for your kind comment.

Carrie - Thank you too!

Fussy Eater's Mum - Resist, resist, resist. Newborns are cute when you can return them to their rightful owner as required....!

We have matching sleeping bags for our offspring. Except mine it too big for his now :( They grow so stinking fast don't they? It's really nice to meet a fellow West Aussie blogger too. x

Life In A Pink Fibro - Thank you, I enjoy your rewind.

Sarah- Farmboy outgrew that sleeping bag a long time ago now. It is now a lovely memory.
